Job description

The Kindersley Housing Authority has an opportunity for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join their team. If you are ambitious, results focused, a self-starter, and skilled in building and property maintenance, we’d love to hear from you!

The Position:
  1. Ensure housing units are rent-ready by undertaking minor repairs, cleaning duties and any prep work required before completing a painting or flooring project
  2. Assist with garbage removal and janitorial duties
  3. Oversee contracted work to ensure work is completed to standard
  4. Groundskeeping, including grass cutting and snow removal
  5. Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks and inventory controls
Responsibilities and Requirements:
  1. Moderate knowledge in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, electrical, septic services and boiler operations
  2. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  3. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, staff, and tenants
  4. Ensure day to day operations are handled promptly, effectively, and to a high standard
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
  1. Grade 12 or equivalent, basic computer skills, and some experience in a maintenance and repair environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Ability to participate in a regular, continuous on-call program for emergencies, including evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
  3. A valid driver’s license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle, and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment.
