Job Description

This position involves providing tenants with a high level of customer service in the completion of tenant requests as well as completing maintenance duties on various types of building equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Servicing tenant requests.
• Performing regular maintenance duties on various building equipment including pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, and motors as part of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
• Changing motor bearings and pump seals.
• Assisting the Operators and other maintenance staff with their tasks on a day-to-day basis.
• Embody and support Brookfield Properties’ Safety, Health and Environment Policy.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate hazards to reduce risk to the workplace.
  • Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely.
  • Take action to stop work if it cannot be executed safely or if conditions or behaviors are unsafe.
  • Immediately report SH&E incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, and/or at-risk behaviors to their supervisor; then diligently work to correct the problem.
  • Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Brookfield Properties Safe Work Procedures.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.

• Completion of other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Operations.
• Occasional shift work may be required.
• On-call rotation is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS:

A portion of time in this position will be spent servicing tenant requests. This daily interaction with customers requires an individual with a keen service orientation as exemplified by the consistent demonstration of empathy and courtesy in all customer interactions. Our level of tenant service further requires the communication of a sincere desire to contribute to tenant satisfaction by taking personal responsibility to resolve the tenants’ concerns.

EXPERIENCE & TECHINCAL SKILLS:

• Firsthand knowledge of plumbing, electrical installations and repair is an asset.
• Candidate must have 3 years’ experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers and all air handling equipment.
• Background knowledge of building automation systems, controls and instrumentation would be a definite asset.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision. Must understand the maintenance and operational routines of mechanical equipment.

EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES:

• Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent.
• A Fifth or Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset.
