Job description

Marid Industries Limited is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in our Steel fabrication shop. The Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. This position requires a solid background in industrial maintenance and mechanical repair, with a focus on keeping the shop's machinery and equipment functioning optimally in addition to site equipment.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance, preferably in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of welding machinery, fabrication equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and repair for industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repairs quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations within an industrial setting.
  • Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a noisy and fast-paced environment with exposure to welding fumes and industrial machinery.
Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, including welding machines, saws, presses, cranes, forklifts, and other fabrication tools.

Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across various equipment used in the fabrication process.

Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime in production.

Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of all equipment, systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work is performed according to company safety protocols, OSHA standards, and best industry practices.

Parts Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies and ensure availability of necessary components for timely repairs.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Manager and other staff to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules without affecting production timelines.

Facility Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance of the facility, including the upkeep of lighting, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other essential infrastructure.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, including repairs, inspections, and parts used, to ensure compliance and track maintenance history.

Training and mentoring: As our team grows, there will be an expectation to assist in training junior maintenance staff if applicable.

Emergency repairs: There will be the need for quick response times when there are emergency repairs needed to maintain production.
