Description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is a skilled, trained, and adaptable tradesperson responsible for the preventative/reactive maintenance and uptime of all facility operations.

The area of responsibility includes fabrication, paint line, shipping, and offices operations.

The Maintenance Technician provides effective solutions for the preventative maintenance and repair of all assets in just one facility.

This role requires considerable knowledge of best practices in general maintenance. It is paramount that the maintenance program is carried out according to policies, standards, and regulations to optimize operational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. The Technician is utilizing a CMMS system to make sure that all planned maintenance schedules and legal regulations are adhered to.

This position will have considerable contact with GRECO employees and contractors. It is the Maintenance Technicians responsibility to foster a workplace environment that is oriented to trust, open communication, and the safe and efficient operation of the facility. The Maintenance Technician supports the Operations Manager by acting as liaison in matters regarding policy application and continuous improvement for processes and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinates preventative and predictive maintenance planning.
  • Executes daily/weekly/monthly PM assignments, performs follow-ups and monitors PM schedules.
  • Executes repair, modification, and installation activities.
  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the Safety Policies of Greco.
  • Regularly monitors scoreboards to observe where issues are occurring and offers required assistance and support to production team members; Responds to escalation process, as required.
  • Monitors and shares key performance indicators (KPIs) results with employees to encourage continuous improvement results. KPIs are monitored through daily methods.
  • Assists in the development of procedures and methods which improve Safety, Quality and Performance.
  • Orders materials required for repair, modification, installation, and maintenance of equipment. Abides by Greco’s Purchasing Policy.
  • Assigns competent trades if needed (third party).
  • Conducts daily communication meetings with Operations Management.
  • Assists with maintenance capacity planning to meet future objectives.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally, verbally and in writing, with team members and customers.
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts with team members and customers in a constructive manner.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Good analytical skills with good attention to details.
  • Basic knowledge in Robotics, PLC (Allen Bradley) would be an asset.
  • Hands on experience in machining.
  • Ability to work well in an environment with a variable workload (flexible hours).

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a skilled trade technician.
  • Experience in using a CMMS system would be an asset. Company provides training on FLUKE EMAINT if needed.
  • Experience creating reports with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education

  • Completion of college in the field of Mechanical/Electrical.
  • Skilled Trades Certification for Electrical/Millwright; or equivalent work-related experience.

Other Requirements

  • Core Shift Time, Monday-Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm (variable if needed)
  • Weekend: If maintenance can’t be scheduled during regular week.
