Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair. This role involves performing troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment, including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. The technician also maintains facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, water filtration systems, and general plant maintenance. They work directly with machine operators, supervisors, and other maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues and propose solutions to complex problems.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other machinery.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment following Niagara’s processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Fill in for production operators as needed.
  • Create and report repairs, complete work order paperwork, and document parts and materials used.
  • Follow plant safety rules, including proper use of PPE and safe machine operation.
  • Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in maintenance or a similar environment.
  • Experience managing people and projects.

  • Effective communication skills across departments.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Skilled in using shop equipment and precision measuring tools.
  • Willing to be a technical leader and trainer.
  • Own tools and basic toolkit.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Knowledge of specific technologies such as VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, HVAC systems, and electrical schematics.

Education

Additional Information

Pay Rate: $31.01 - $44.97 per hour
