Job summary

PEI Mussel King is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment within our processing facility on Prince Edward Island. The role requires hands-on experience across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

You will work with the maintenance team to minimize downtime, use a range of tools, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Refrigeration 'B' license or 4th Class Power Engineering certificate or higher.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance.
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
  • Access to a vehicle; site located about 30 minutes from Charlottetown.
  • Willing to work emergencies outside regular hours.
  • Strong safety orientation and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at PEI Mussel King.

This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and systems.

The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, demonstrating expertise in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, repair, and maintain various equipment in the processing facility, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure operational efficiency of all equipment.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.
  • Participating in continuous training on best practices and new system operations, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Open to receiving their Refrigeration ‘B’ license or 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing all assigned duties – including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Maintenance Team.
  • Willing to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Availability for emergency repairs or maintenance outside of regular hours.
  • Must have access to a vehicle – operation located 30min from Charlottetown.

Compensation will be based on qualification – starting between 25-30/hour.
