Job summary

Skyline, a capital management company, seeks a Maintenance Technician in North Bay, Ontario to perform preventative maintenance across apartment buildings and provide excellent tenant service.

The role requires HVAC/BAS/FAS experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to lift 50 lbs. You will handle logbooks, routine inspections, and coordination with tenants, with a rotating weekend schedule and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent in maintenance/HVAC.
• Minimum two years’ experience with HVAC equipment, BAS and FAS.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance may be required.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and email/web usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting) in occupied units and document time sheets.
• Clean common areas and ensure lighting, emergency signs and fire extinguishers are functional; manage storage and boiler rooms.
• Perform tasks using ladders and power tools, applying knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life-safety systems.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing preventative building maintenance for the assigned apartment buildings while providing great customer service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform necessary maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting) in occupied units. Complete and submit accurate maintenance log and time sheet. Clean and repair items in vacant or turnover units, including repairs like leaky taps, faucet change and door lock change.
• Regularly clean common areas, including stairwells, hallways, and elevators, and ensure all lighting, emergency signs, and fire extinguishers are functional. Keep storage and boiler rooms clean, shovel and salt walkways, and manage garbage. Complete monthly inspections, painting and repair tasks on time.
• Performing physically demanding tasks using ladders and power tools, while applying knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.

Qualifications

• Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent and minimum two (2) years’ experience in HVAC equipment, BAS, and FAS in Class A residential complex is required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance may be required.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail/web) are required.
• Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, push and pull as well as go up and down stairs.
