Job summary

The Skyline Group of Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician in North Bay, Ontario to perform preventative building maintenance across assigned apartment buildings while delivering excellent tenant service.

You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical tasks and safety systems, with a rotating schedule that includes weekends. The company offers competitive pay, benefits, ESP match, training, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• HVAC equipment, BAS and FAS knowledge for Class A residential complexes.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record may be required.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, e‑mail/web) are required.
• Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, push and pull, and navigate stairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance in occupied units and accurate log/time sheet submission.
• Clean and repair items in vacant/turnover units (leaky taps, faucet changes, door lock changes).
• Maintain common areas, ensure lighting and safety equipment are functional, perform monthly inspections and repairs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Perform necessary maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting) in occupied units. Complete and submit accurate maintenance log and time sheet. Clean and repair items in vacant or turnover units, including repairs like leaky taps, faucet change and door lock change.
• Regularly clean common areas, including stairwells, hallways, and elevators, and ensure all lighting, emergency signs, and fire extinguishers are functional. Keep storage and boiler rooms clean, shovel and salt walkways, and manage garbage. Complete monthly inspections, painting and repair tasks on time.
• Performing physically demanding tasks using ladders and power tools, while applying knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.

Qualifications

• Relevant post‑secondary education or equivalent and minimum two (2) years’ experience in HVAC equipment, BAS, and FAS in Class A residential complex is required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance may be required.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, e‑mail/web) are required.
• Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, push and pull as well as go up and down stairs.
