Job description

Home: Chelsey Park Long-Term Care

Location: London, Ontario

Position: Maintenance Technician - Full Time

Qualifications

  • Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S.
  • High School Diploma.
  • College level trade certificate is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program.
  • Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs.
  • Regularly check completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home.
  • Complete repairs as necessary including, but not limited to: painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds).
  • Check the operation of the mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems.
  • Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment.
  • Complete regular maintenance reports.
  • Complete pre-start up assessments on new equipment as applicable.
  • Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Must be available for call-ins on short notice.
  • Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy-duty related work.
