Jealous Fruits is Canada's largest cherry grower and exporter. We supply premium fruit to large Canadian and US retailers, and export to Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

We require suitably experienced personal to join the maintenance team of Duck Lake packing facility located on Hwy 97, Kelowna. Our plant has a high level of automation with a state-of-the-art 28 lane Unitec optical cherry grading line and associated equipment.

Job requirements :

  • Work with other members of the maintenance and operations team to ensure plant and equipment is kept in good and safe working order.
  • Perform scheduled and proactive inspections of plant and equipment to identify maintenance issues
  • Perform maintenance of packing plant equipment in a proactive manner to minimize deficiencies and ensure that production remains within schedule
  • Repair equipment and resolve maintenance issues while being conscious of time restraints to minimize down time of the packing plant.
  • Promote a positive workplace, supporting team leaders to ensure collaborative and efficient teamwork.

Applicant requirements :

  • Proficient knowledge and expertise of industrial mechanics and / or electrics and electronics
  • Capable of identifying and performing preventative maintenance on processing equipment and facility structures
  • Experience in a maintenance role and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient knowledge of fruit grading equipment and systems would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of industrial water pumps an asset.
  • This is a seasonal role that runs for the duration of our cherry harvest, mid-June to September.
  • Our facility operates 8-16 hours / day 7 days a week.
  • Work shifts can vary from 8-12 hours dependent on the harvesting schedule.
  • Job sharing and flexible shift options are available.
  • Hourly pay rate : min. $28, or negotiable commensurate with experience and qualifications

Special requirements

  • A background check to pass Canadian Air Cargo Security Requirement’s
