OnekaLand is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will handle a broad range of maintenance tasks on residential and commercial properties, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, safety, and delivering high-quality service to residents and tenants. On-call rotation may be required to address emergencies and maintenance issues.

Qualifications

Job description

OnekaLand is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks across residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.

The successful candidate will take pride in delivering high-quality work, maintaining a professional demeanor, and providing exceptional service to residents and tenants.

Key Responsibilities
Plumbing
  • Diagnose and repair common plumbing issues.
  • Fix leaks, clogged drains, and running toilets.
  • Replace faucets, showerheads, sinks, and valves.
  • Perform basic pipe repairs and maintenance.
Electrical
  • Replace switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot breakers and minor electrical issues.
  • Install appliances, lighting, and related components.
  • Follow all electrical safety procedures and regulations.
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning)
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of furnaces and air conditioning systems.
  • Replace filters and conduct preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and replace thermostats.
  • Maintain and understand ventilation systems.
Carpentry & General Repairs
  • Complete drywall repairs, patching, and painting.
  • Repair doors, locks, cabinets, and shelving.
  • Perform flooring, trim, and general property repairs.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of properties.
Appliance Repair
  • Diagnose and repair household appliances, including:
  • Stoves
  • Dishwashers
  • Washers and dryers
Preventative Maintenance
  • Conduct routine property inspections.
  • Perform seasonal and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Identify and address maintenance concerns before they become major issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and work orders.
Emergency Response
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies.
  • Assess situations quickly and implement practical solutions.
  • Prioritize urgent repairs while managing ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in a scheduled after-hours and weekend on-call rotation to address urgent maintenance emergencies and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in property maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
  • Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and perform repairs independently.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as required.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call emergency rotation.

  • Patient and courteous when interacting with residents and tenants.
  • Ability to handle concerns and de-escalate frustrations calmly and professionally.

  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and work orders.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
