Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited in Langley is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Casual) to support day-to-day facility and grounds upkeep, including repairs to walls, doors, furniture and gaming equipment. You will assist with Building Automated System operations and environmental safety standards.

The role requires at least 2 years in hotel/casino maintenance, broad trades knowledge (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, tiling), and ability to work flexible hours and be on-call 24/7.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in Hotel/Casino or hospitality.
• Extensive knowledge of carpentry, finishing, minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, tiling and related trades.
• Hands-on maintenance skills with common building trade tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance software and Outlook/Excel.
• Valid BC/AB/ON driver's license and clean driving record.
• Able to work flexible hours and be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
• Experience assisting with Building Automated System operations.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations and maintenance of Casino facilities and grounds.
• Perform general maintenance of assets: walls, doors, office furniture, gaming tables, equipment.
• Assist with Building Automated System operations as directed.
• Conduct inspections and maintenance of casino floor, offices, kitchens, washrooms, parking areas and grounds.
• Ensure compliance with WorkSafe safety standards and PPE usage.
• Assist in repairing/plumbing, electrical and mechanical issues.
• Maintain a well-equipped, organized workshop.
• Assist with equipment purchasing and budgeting/cost-saving efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations and maintenance to Casino facility and grounds.
• Perform general maintenance of Casino assets, which includes repairs to walls, doors, office furniture, gaming tables and all equipment.
• Assist with the operations of the Building Automated System as directed.
• Perform inspections and maintenance as required on Casino floor, offices, kitchen facilities, washrooms, all parking areas and grounds.
• Ensure all safety standards as described in the WorkSafe regulations are adhered to including protective equipment and clothing.
• Assist in repairing and/or troubleshooting of plumbing, electrical and mechanical issues.
• Establish and maintain a well-equipped and organized workshop.
• Support the purchasing of equipment and inventory and assist with establishing a budget and cost-saving measures.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Hotel/Casino or hospitality maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of carpentry, finishing, minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, tiling and other associated trades.
• Skilled at maintenance practices, procedures, and repair work, along with hand tools and equipment that is common to building trades.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance software and working knowledge of Outlook (Word and Excel).
• Valid BC / AB / ON Driver\?s License and good driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours and available to be on call 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
• Assists with the operations of the Building Automated System as directed.
