Job description

The Village of Riverside Glen, located in Guelph, Ontario, has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full-Time Maintenance Team Member - Long Term Care to join their team.

As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team, you will:
  • Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions, and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work
  • Handle residents' personal items with care and respect
  • Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Have exceptional time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
Assets (training provided):
  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting
  • Understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), and all health and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and trades such as carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical
  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery like hot water heating systems, air exchange units, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and call systems
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools
