Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Support worker - Please note the location is Goldeye Centre near Nordegg Alberta.

Overview

Goldeye Centre is seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Support worker for a seasonal opportunity to support the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for all occupants. This role may be extended beyond seasonal. On-site accommodations are provided as part of the employment package, offering convenience and immediate access to the workplace. The Job location is at the Goldeye Centre near Nordegg Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Maintenance: Perform general maintenance duties, including minor repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.
  • Equipment Upkeep: Inspect and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of facilities, including floors, restrooms, and common areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring necessary items are stocked.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, providing immediate solutions or escalating issues as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and departments to coordinate tasks and share information effectively.
  • Groundskeeping: Perform outdoor maintenance tasks, including lawn mowing, raking, painting, staining, and general cleanup to ensure the property's exterior remains clean and visually appealing.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a maintenance or related role, with hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing systems.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are advantageous.
  • Love the outdoors
  • Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, including equipment and supplies.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • Licenses: Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Background Check: Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Accommodation: Willingness to reside in the provided on-site accommodations as part of the employment arrangement.
