Our client located in Northern BC has an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Supervisor. The ideal candidate is a Red Seal Millwright.
Responsibilities
- Direct unionized maintenance personnel and contractors to ensure all equipment operates at its highest capability to meet production schedules, quality, and cost priorities;
- Hire, train, coach, mentor, and manage the performance of hourly maintenance employees, emphasizing safety and environmental stewardship by adhering to company safety and sustainability policies;
- Support analysis of downtime reports and relevant metrics to identify improvement opportunities;
- Develop cost-effective preventative maintenance schedules and processes to enhance equipment availability and lifespan, aiming to reduce overall ownership costs;
- Supervise all maintenance activities and support capital project delivery to improve safety, productivity, and minimize downtime;
- Promote proactive maintenance by regularly reviewing equipment performance and scheduling preventative maintenance to reduce downtime;
- Balance planned maintenance and critical repairs daily to ensure equipment productivity;
- Assist the purchasing department in optimizing spare parts inventory to minimize downtime while managing costs;
- Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications, WorkSafe BC regulations, and company standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in a similar role;
- 5+ years of maintenance and manufacturing experience preferred;
- Must be a Red Seal Millwright.
