Description

Amsted Automotive, is looking for a Midnight Shift Maintenance Supervisor to direct and coordinate all activities relating to building and equipment maintenance to ensure that all assets are maintained in proper working order. This position is day shift based but flexibility required to support all shifts is required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Promote and practice company Ideal Behaviours
  • Responsible for supervising the daily plant operations for all maintenance employees, including off-shift and weekend operations
  • Establish & prioritize work schedules, including weekend overtime & plant shutdown activities
  • Coach and mentor team members, including evaluating team member skillset and educational shortfalls
  • Evaluate employee performance & behaviors and ensure all team members adhere to all company safety requirements and procedures & are held accountable
  • Lead daily and weekly department communication meetings
  • Maintain production equipment and machinery in optimal operating condition in order to minimize machine downtime
  • Maintains appropriate records for equipment and outside vendor service activities
  • Manage & utilize the company CMMS system to ensure timely completion of PM’s and work orders utilizing a cost-effective and efficient approach
  • Incorporate “5S” and elimination of waste projects into the maintenance work order system and ensure all maintenance work areas are clean and organized
  • Perform inspections of repair activities to ensure all work was properly completed in accordance with the company’s safety and compliance procedures
  • Ensure TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) systems are followed
  • Responsible for problem solving & root cause analysis and formulates permanent corrective actions to improve operational efficiency
  • Be willing to take a hands-on approach and carry out repairs
  • Maintain open communication with other departments and leadership to ensure fluid and effective operations
  • Liaise with other departments and leadership to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production operations
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and project timelines
  • Using the company CMMS system, maintain accurate records of inventory levels for materials, parts, and specialized tools, ensuring adequate stock to support maintenance activities
  • Coordinate procurement of necessary parts and supplies, evaluating vendors and to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Certification in maintenance management (e.g. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)) would be a strong plus
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, including stamping presses, CNC machines, robotics, conveyors, and industrial automation systems
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic fundamentals and principals
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of maintenance professionals
  • Ability to supervise, coach, counsel, discipline, and train employees
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
