Maintenance Supervisor – DAY Shift - $95 to 100K

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and oversee maintenance operations for the plant, grounds, and production equipment. This role involves planning preventative maintenance, scheduling corrective maintenance, and prioritizing repairs. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient Maintenance Leader with expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. Strong leadership skills are essential, emphasizing a team-oriented, flexible, self-accountable, and influential approach.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test machinery using electronic, electrical, and mechanical tools.
  • Plan and direct maintenance activities across all shifts, prioritizing projects for effective operations and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and monthly safety meetings, addressing deficiencies promptly.
  • Achieve company goals through job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising results, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, and enforcing policies.
  • Analyze reports to identify production issues.
  • Consult with production personnel on equipment modifications to improve production and product quality.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping in maintenance areas.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support new product launches and equipment installations.
  • Handle mechanical, electrical, and building repairs, including conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Develop maintenance strategies to meet organizational goals.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report daily activities.
  • Adhere to SQF, WSIB, and GMP standards.
  • Provide leadership in repair, breakdown, and troubleshooting.
  • Determine if problems require in-house solutions or external specialists and make recommendations.
  • Prepare technician schedules to support operations and maintenance.
  • Train and develop Maintenance Technicians and act as a backup to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and programs (GMP, Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, etc.).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred Engineering Diploma and Electrician or Millwright qualification (Journeyman/Red Seal/Technical or Engineering Diploma).
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and PLC programming (preferred).
  • Safety-focused with experience in industrial risk analysis.
  • Understanding of maintenance's impact on product quality.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Professional communication with all levels (internal and external).
  • Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Excellent team development and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Flexibility to manage a multi-shift operation and resolve issues after hours.
