Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY :

The Maintenance Supervisor supervises preventive and corrective maintenance work for assigned stores. Ensures all work is completed within our standards in a timely and economical manner.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Supervises preventative and corrective maintenance work for various properties (roofing, plumbing, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical, etc.) as well as various project work.
• Coordinates and monitors tasks related to the proper maintenance of stores equipment as well as general maintenance services (janitorial, waste removal, snow removal, landscaping, etc.).
• Evaluates after inspection the appropriate corrective measures to be taken.
• Ensures the respect of established standards while completing all tasks in a timely and economical manner.
• Evaluates quotations and negotiates prices and/or contents as needed.
• Prepares work requisition and transmits same for appropriate approval.
• Manages and analyzes periodic expense reports to ensure budget is respected.
• Verifies and approves all corrective work invoices for payment.
• Responds to after hour calls and emergencies as required.
• Searches for new contractors.
• Other related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• College level diploma in Building systems or Electro-mechanical studies.
• 3 - 5 years experience in building maintenance.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel).
• Skilled task supervision and coordination.
• Skilled negotiator.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

RELATIONSHIPS :

Office, Stores, Pharmacies, Suppliers/vendors, City officials, Fire departments, Labour inspectors, Government health inspectors, Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Electrical Safety Authority.

This is a temporary position.
