Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee scheduled maintenance ensuring high quality, safety and cost control to maximize equipment availability.

The role requires 5 years of supervisory experience, strong knowledge of heavy equipment repair, CMMS and SAP, and the ability to lead a team of millwrights in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will manage weekly schedules, respond to breakdowns, mentor apprentices and uphold health and safety standards while

Qualifications

  • DEP in industrial mechanics, DEC in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, or equivalent field experience.
  • 5 years of maintenance supervision experience.
  • Extensive experience in heavy equipment repair; experience in inspection an asset.
  • Microsoft suite and SAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant personnel.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.

  • Review weekly schedules, assign work to millwrights, and maintain schedule priority.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns to ensure prompt repairs and streamline job execution.
  • Provide reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent and feedback to millwrights on repair jobs including consumption of materials, tools, man hours & skill.
  • Coordinate training for the millwrights including the mentoring of millwright apprentices.
  • Ensure productivity, housekeeping and quality of work standards are maintained within the mechanical maintenance department.
  • Administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement in a fair, firm, and consistent manner.
  • Participate in the plant “On-Call” system.
  • Investigate, report, provide and implement corrective actions for all safety incidents and near misses.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The prime objective of the Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee the completion of scheduled maintenance jobs using the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximize equipment availability and optimize reliability.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Follow and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: DEP in industrial mechanics, DEC in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, or equivalent field experience.
  • Experience: 5 years of maintenance supervision experience.
  • Extensive experience in heavy equipment repair; experience in inspection an asset.
  • Required Technical Skills: Microsoft suite and SAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant personnel.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Additional Requirements:
  • Travel Requirements: 10%
  • In depth knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Proven experience in executing major work and plant shutdowns.
  • Knowledge of labor law and personnel management rules.
  • Experience with Computerized Mechanical Maintenance System (CMMS) and the maintenance management module in SAP.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
