Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and coordinate maintenance operations at our Client's manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance team, performing both preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring the reliable operation of machinery and equipment used in steel production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, leadership experience, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems (non-certified).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure safety, productivity, and quality standards are achieved.
- Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical, electrical (non-licensed tasks), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS software.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and downtime logs.
- Coordinate with production and safety departments to minimize equipment downtime and meet operational needs.
- Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff, fostering continuous learning and adherence to safety standards.
- Support capital projects and participate in the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Conduct pre-maintenance safety evaluations and follow all required procedures during maintenance activities.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment, including lifting (20–80 lbs.), standing, walking, and bending regularly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of three (3) years of industrial or maintenance-related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or steel production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge (no license required).
- Familiar with reading schematics, blueprints, and manuals for mechanical and basic electrical systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and basic welding/cutting tools.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems is essential.
- Good computer literacy for CMMS and documentation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
