Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises LP is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance operations at Fort McKay. This permanent, full-time role focuses on safety, reliability, and efficiency, balancing shop and field activities to maximize equipment availability.

The successful candidate will manage budgets, supervise maintenance teams, coordinate with Operations, and drive continuous improvement using maintenance data and technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience in heavy-duty fleet or similar maintenance environment.
• HET Journeyman certification with heavy-duty and automotive maintenance knowledge.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and managing competing priorities.
• Experience with maintenance planning, budgeting, cost control, and reliability.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with maintenance/enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shop and field maintenance operations to maximize equipment availability and efficiency.
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management to maintenance staff.
• Coordinate with Operations to establish repair priorities and ensure equipment readiness.
• Monitor equipment condition and downtime, addressing issues impacting operations.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities and troubleshooting.
• Ensure records are accurately documented in TAG and maintenance systems.
• Develop and manage budgets, resources, and expenditures with cost control.
• Drive safety, quality, and environmental compliance across maintenance activities.
• Support recruitment, training, and development of maintenance personnel.
