Maintenance Superintendent

Elk Lake, Ontario

As a Maintenance Superintendent at our Elk Lake sawmill, you will oversee all maintenance activities on site, focusing on safety, efficiency, and compliance with health and safety standards. You will also play a key role in optimizing and upgrading equipment to enhance operational performance.

A day in the life as a Maintenance Superintendent:

• Direct and enforce the maintenance safety program, ensuring compliance and maintaining safety records.
• Lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring proper training, communication, and evaluations.
• Develop and manage a maintenance program focusing on preventive and predictive strategies.
• Oversee environmental compliance and ensure activities align with regulations.
• Manage inventory and resources using a CMMS to optimize workflows.
• Analyze data to improve performance, reduce downtime, and lower costs.

Experience and skills that will set you up for success:

• University/College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Red Seal Certification as a Millwright or Electrician.
• 3–5 years of experience in a sawmill or manufacturing environment, including leadership in a unionized setting.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and accountability.
• Skills in electrical systems, mechanical (hydraulic/pneumatic), welding/fabrication, and PLC programming.
• Results-driven, solutions-oriented, with good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in English with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, CMMS, EAM.
