Job summary

PRT Offshore an Expro Company is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to support our Pitt Meadows, BC operations. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of nursery facilities, vehicles, and equipment, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will work in a hybrid schedule at PRT Hybrid in Pitt Meadows, contributing to a stable, inclusive environment while coordinating projects and optimizing maintenance processes.

Job Description
A Day in the Life

PRT is currently recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Specialist at PRT Hybrid in Pitt Meadows, BC. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the repair and maintenance of our Nursery and all things related to the farm; greenhouses, equipment, site buildings, vehicles, and everything in between. It is expected for everyday to be a little different from the last, with varying tasks and challenges. The Maintenance Specialist will have a high level of safety awareness and be competent in assessing the safety requirements needed to complete projects while minimizing risk to the crops being produced. The Maintenance Specialist understands what tasks can be performed within their wheelhouse and works with management to outsource or bring in experts when required. Candidates may be interviewed and tested to assess their skill, ability, competence, and efficiency for this position.

Key Accountabilities of the Maintenance Specialist includes
  • Safety & Compliance: Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring strict adherence to WorksafeBC regulations and maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment for all equipment and facilities.
  • Asset Management & Reliability: Oversee site-wide preventative maintenance and inventory for all vehicles and nursery systems; perform emergency repairs and complex troubleshooting (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical).
  • Project Coordination & Strategy: Lead capital improvement projects and outsourced contractor activities, providing data-driven insights to management for maintenance planning and budgeting.
  • Team Leadership & Optimization: Drive operational excellence by setting production targets, fostering a collaborative team environment, and championing continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
What YOU Bring To The Table
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in a maintenance role including carpentry and basic welding
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of sound judgment and reasoning skills
  • Great organizational and record keeping skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Certificates or training in electrical, pneumatic, heavy equipment or welding and fabricating
Salary

$28.02 -$33.65 per hour (compensation based on experience)

Accommodation
  • House available at 50% of Market Rental, with the expectation that :
  • Should there be any after hours repairs required of a critical nature they be attended to promptly.
  • Participation in the “Frost Protection” Program on weekends if required April/May.
  • Be available in “Snow Events” ensuring all heating in greenhouses is operational.
