Job description

Overview:

This is a 1-year, full-time career opportunity with benefits in the Canada's Wonderland Maintenance Department. Rates for this position vary based on experience.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with sign design and production along with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. This person can assist with new sign installation and work independently on repairs and maintenance while organizing the sign shop projects as assigned.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

A “hands-on” individual who will assist in the maintenance and installation of all signage for the Park.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, rebuild and/or repair park-wide signage
• Maintain all required documentation, drawings, records and logs
• Make recommendations for improvements, modification, upgrades and report findings to Supervisor and or Manager on a timely basis
• Responsible for preventative maintenance on tools, equipment and Park Signage
• Work according to company safety protocols and ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
• Assist with general cleaning, inspection and reassembly of equipment as needed
• Maintain Canada’s Wonderland high standard of quality workmanship
• Assist with other duties as required
  
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3yrs. of practical experience working in a diverse creative sign shop environment is preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work from designs and/or schematics
• Proficiency in working with basic shop tools (i.e. drivers, drills, other hand tools)
• Ability to work independently and as a team as well as meet deadlines
• Able to work flexible shifts (starting at 6am) including evenings, on weekends and holidays
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license (class G/G2) with a clean abstract
• May require heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must supply CSA approved steel toe work boots
• Must be comfortable working on ladders and from heights
