Maintenance- Sign Shop Technician (1 year contract)

Overview

This is a 1-year, full-time career opportunity with benefits in the Canada's Wonderland Maintenance Department. Rates for this position vary based on experience.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with sign design and production, along with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. They should be able to assist with new sign installation and work independently on repairs and maintenance while organizing sign shop projects as assigned.

Scope of Position

A "hands-on" individual responsible for assisting in the maintenance and installation of all signage for the Park.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, rebuild, and repair park-wide signage.
• Maintain all required documentation, drawings, records, and logs.
• Make recommendations for improvements, modifications, upgrades, and report findings to Supervisor or Manager promptly.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and park signage.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure safe work practices at all times.
• Assist with general cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of equipment as needed.
• Maintain Canada's Wonderland high standard of quality workmanship.
• Assist with other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a creative sign shop environment preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work from designs and schematics.
• Proficiency with basic shop tools (drivers, drills, hand tools).
• Ability to work independently and in a team, meeting deadlines.
• Flexible shifts starting at 6 am, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license (G/G2) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and comfortable working on ladders and heights.
• Must supply CSA-approved steel toe work boots.
