EPCOR is seeking a Maintenance Shift Lead in Regina, Saskatchewan to oversee a team of trades and maintenance professionals at the Regina Wastewater Treatment Plant, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Journeyperson Certificate in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Millwright is required.
• Wastewater Operator Certification preferred (Level 4 preferred).
• 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in municipal or industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with IVARA maintenance programs and ability to read diagrams.

We are hiring a full-time permanent Maintenance Shift Lead position working out of Regina, SK.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will play an important role in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Regina Wastewater Treatment Plant. Leveraging your maintenance expertise and leadership skills, you will support a team of skilled trades and maintenance professionals while helping ensure equipment, systems, and processes perform at their best.

Working closely with the Team Lead and Operations Manager, you will coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities, provide day-to-day guidance to staff, and contribute to a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Through your leadership and technical knowledge, you will help deliver essential services that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and the long-term reliability of the plant.

What you’d be responsible for

• Implementing schedules, assisting colleagues in resolving issues, monitoring equipment performance, and providing direction to maintenance staff while applying maintenance best practices and supporting compliance with contract and operating permit requirements.


• Applying strong trade knowledge and utilizing available resources to troubleshoot issues, solve problems, and interpret data from vibration and acoustic monitoring, IR scanning, and SCADA systems to support decision‑making.


• Working with the Team Lead to maintain adequate inventory levels of replacement parts and critical spares while communicating effectively with the Operations Shift Lead and Team Lead to support seamless plant operations.


• Maintaining and advancing certification levels, pursuing additional training, and supporting the development of training plans for maintenance staff.


• Troubleshooting wastewater treatment plant equipment and developing practical solutions to equipment and process issues.


• Performing work safely in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and legislative requirements while supporting a zero‑injury culture and continuous procedural improvement.


• Contributing to maintenance planning, fostering collaborative working relationships, and sharing technical and safety knowledge while influencing and guiding others to achieve team goals safely.


• Performing maintenance activities as required and completing accurate documentation to meet contract and regulatory requirements while making informed decisions regarding the timing and scope of maintenance work.


• Planning and coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance work using weekly schedules as a guide, leveraging IVARA and other systems, and ensuring the plant is properly maintained and housekeeping standards are met.


• Maintaining awareness of work schedules and attendance expectations, ensuring appropriate planning and communication regarding time‑off requests, and delivering results aligned with performance metrics and the Collective Agreement.


• Following all site and EPCOR safety requirements while reporting and correcting unsafe conditions and preventing unsafe acts.


• Keeping management informed of frontline work activities and behavioral performance concerns.

What’s required to be successful

• Wastewater Operator Certification preferred (some level required; Level 4 preferred)


• 5+ years of maintenance experience


• 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role


• Knowledge of mechanical process operations, materials, equipment, and methods in municipal or comparable industrial facilities


• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and proficiency in IVARA


• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, work plans, and technical manuals


• Strong knowledge of construction and maintenance best practices and the ability to provide strategic, innovative solutions


• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems, operations, maintenance, and applicable regulations


• Ability to exercise fiscal responsibility

Safety Sensitive

• Ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permit, which requires a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Motor Vehicle Operator's License
