Career Opportunity

The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Services Worker reporting to the Senior Manager, Building Services. The Maintenance Services Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance in the CTCC, assisting clients with requirements for tradeshows and conventions, and upholding CTCC standards for quality and OH&S protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain the interior and exterior of the CTCC buildings, including repairing damage to meeting rooms, public areas, and offices (patching walls, re-staining woodwork, wallpaper repairs, painting, tile repairs, electrical maintenance, graffiti removal).
  2. Repair furniture and equipment as needed.
  3. Set up and teardown risers and steps.
  4. Assist with internal renovations and coordinate with contractors.
  5. Manage freight delivery and pickup, including moving freight within the facility.
  6. Operate equipment such as forklifts and aerial work platforms.
  7. Enforce company standards on contractors and ensure safety regulations are followed.
  8. Utilize EBMS for work orders, invoicing, and service tracking.
  9. Perform snow removal and maintain loading docks.
  10. Assist with event logistics such as move-in/move-out, pin spotlight adjustments, and attending meetings.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job-Related Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and proven ability to work safely.
Education
  • High School Diploma (required).
  • Post-secondary trade training (asset).
  • 3-5 years of building maintenance experience.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving (asset).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EBMS.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED Certification.
Experience & Requirements
  • Knowledge of GHS, occupational health and safety, rigging regulations, asbestos awareness, and fall protection.
  • Experience with carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Forklift and aerial work platform certification and experience.
  • Experience with rigging equipment preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., push/pull up to 444 lbs.
  • Comfort working at heights.
  • Ability to discern colours.
Schedule
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
