Maintenance Scheduler

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Lead- the Maintenance Scheduler – Lloydminster Thermal will be responsible for detailed scheduling, ensuring that maintenance activities are efficiently planned, scheduled, and executed to minimize downtime and maintain regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will uphold high-quality standards and possess familiarity with an Enterprise Asset Management System. They will be an effective communicator with the ability to build strong, positive relationships across multiple business units.

Essential Functions

• Ensure compliance to all health, safety and environment standards and participate in the effort to sustain safety and reliability targets.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant Strathcona policies and standards including the Management of Change (MOC) process and maintenance business processes.
• Develop and maintain weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly schedules for all maintenance related work at facilities. Facilitate daily/weekly scheduling meetings to align priorities. Act as a key point of contact between maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.
• Review, prioritize, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance work orders, ensuring work orders have proper details, materials, and labor assigned. Coordinate work scope, required resources, and job steps within the CMMS.
• Align maintenance activities with operations, production, and HSE requirements as well as, coordinate with supervisors, planners, and operations to avoid conflicts and optimize resource utilization by balancing workloads across trades (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc.).
• Adjust schedules dynamically to accommodate emergency maintenance or equipment failures. Communicate schedule changes and work progress to stakeholders.
• Assist in planning and scheduling minor facility and equipment shutdowns, work with third-party contractors and vendors to align schedules and avoid delays.
• Add work order close out log notes to work orders as required from outside vendors.
• Provide forecast of PM’s and upcoming maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records in the CMMS (e.g., Maximo), including updating work order statuses and history.
• Generate and analyze KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, backlog management, PM completion rates).
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a SAGD facility
• Dynamic individual with 2 to 5 years minimum maintenance planning or scheduling experience
• Experience with Prometheus Scheduler or equivalent is considered an asset
• Trades certificate or Technical Diploma with related experience an asset
• A working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo) and material management systems
• Proficient with Microsoft office products such as Word & Excel
• Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driving record
