Job summary

Six Flags Corp is offering a year-round, full-time opportunity in Canada's Wonderland Ride Maintenance Department. The Level I Apprentice earns $21.75 per hour (50% of the Journeyman rate) with progression through the 433A Millwright program toward the full journeyman rate.

The role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics and safety in a rides environment. Ideal candidates are team players with mechanical trade experience, a valid Ontario driver’s license and

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical trades.
• Post-secondary education in a mechanical trade is an asset.
• Registration as a 433a Millwright apprentice is an asset.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license.
• Past experience in a diverse industrial environment.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Exposure to welding and machining equipment is an asset.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
• Proven problem-solving and deadline-driven work abilities.
• Ownership of tools and safety boots is a must.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to meet physical demands (up to 23 kg, climb ladders, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Install new equipment.
• Rebuild and/or repair equipment as specified.
• Maintain all required service records and logs.
• Make recommendations for improvements, modifications, upgrades and report to Foreman/Supervisor on a timely basis.
• Assist with major overhauls, modifications and alterations as required.
• Ensure the safe operation of each work area and each work project.
• Assist with general cleaning, inspection and reassemble equipment as needed.
• Responsible for assisting with daily preventative maintenance program.

Job description

Overview:

$21.75 / hour

The starting rate for a Level I Apprentice is $21.75/hour (50% of the current Journeyman rate of $43.50/hour). Rates increase as apprentices progress through the 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) apprenticeship program, up to the full journeyman rate.

This is a year-round, full-time career opportunity with benefits in the Canada's Wonderland Ride Maintenance Department.

The ideal candidate is a team-oriented individual with a solid track record working in a rides environment.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The successful candidates will have proven skills with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, hydraulics and pneumatics and will have the ability to problem solving and work independently.
