The Village of Wentworth Heights located in Hamilton , Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part-Time Maintenance Team Member to join their Team.

As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team, you will :

  • Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work
  • Handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect
  • Comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture

Assets, but not required, as Schlegel Villages provides training to the successful candidate :

  • Have experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting
  • An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures
  • An understanding of general maintenance and trades, such as, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical
  • The awareness and ability to operate equipment and machinery, such as, hot water heating systems, air exchange units, fire alarms, sprinkler systems and / or call systems
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools
