Maintenance | Refrigeration Operator Or 4th Class Power Engineer

Our client (one of the nation’s largest food service distributors) is looking for a Refrigeration Operator or 4th Class Power Engineer to work at their Delta facility! The role will include responsibilities related to maintaining ammonia and refrigeration equipment as well as performing general maintenance tasks as needed (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems).

Compensation:

• 4 x 10s schedule; Sunday – Wednesday, 10:00pm – 8:00am
• Base wage of $42.75/hr + $1.75/hr night shift premium = $44/hr! (Base wage increases yearly)
• Extended health, dental, drugs and health insurance coverage
• RRSP plan after 90 days
• 2 weeks of paid vacation

Responsibilities:

• Preventative maintenance and breakdown response for multiple systems at the facility, including but not limited to refrigeration equipment, racking equipment, material handling machinery, plumbing systems, painting and more
• Routine monitoring tasks for refrigeration equipment including temperature readings, defrost setups, alarm monitoring
• Ensuring a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company and government policies

Qualifications:

• Refrigeration Operator Endorsement, 5th Class Power Engineer or 4th Class Power Engineer Certification
• Exposure to working with refrigeration and ammonia systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Criminal background check
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, racking, carpentry, welding, and hydraulics is an asset
