Qualifications

  • Prior plumbing experience in a large facility is an asset.
  • Knowledge of water filtration and pumping systems is beneficial.

Job description

Overview:

$19.50 / hour

This is a vacant position. Candidates must be a minimum age of 17 years and must have a valid Ontario driver's license (G/G2) in order to be considered.

Joining our Canada’s Wonderland team means you’ll play an essential role in providing guests a memorable visit.

You’ll also…

  • Assist the full-time plumbers in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the park plumbing systems and equipment
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs of the park water rides and fountains.
    • Organize, document, and perform with minimal supervision after completing the training
    • Document in log books, water chemistry, and filtration sheets, as well as preventative maintenance
    • Perform daily pool maintenance duties which includes; backwashing, minor chemical injection and skimming of pools
    • Monitors and inspects plant equipment and systems for normal operation
  • Perform duties and takes direction from senior staff
  • Use colour comparator test equipment and understands the correlation between water testing and automated chemical control systems
  • Read flow meters, turbidity meters, gauges and other recording devices
  • Assist with other duties as required and assist in Splash Works if needed
  • Assist plumbers around the park with additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • You!
  • Prior experience with plumbing in a large, diverse facility would be an asset
  • Candidates that have a current Ontario driver’s license (G/G2) and if hired, must provide a driver’s abstract
  • Those that are able to provide their own CSA work boots
  • Candidates that have knowledge of small gas pumps (an asset)
  • Ability to use colour comparator test equipment
  • Candidates that are able to swim as employee may be required to enter the water/pools to clean debris and pool surfaces
  • Those that are mechanically inclined with an understanding of water filtration, pumping systems and water chemistry
  • Those who able to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely
  • Candidates that are available to start work at 6:00 am with a rotating schedule that will cover days, afternoons, on weekends and statutory holidays
