Plains is seeking an organized and reliable full-time maintenance planner for our North Crude District. Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, you will coordinate with Instrumentation & Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Construction, and Operations personnel to ensure efficient planning of predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities related to operations, major maintenance, and turnarounds.

Note: Permanent residency within 100 km of the Sherwood Park office is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed work plans and complete procurement for maintenance, turnarounds, and asset integrity projects, adhering to scope, policies, OEM recommendations, industry best practices, manpower, equipment, and service requirements.
  2. Follow existing work execution management processes (WEMP).
  3. Stay updated on industry advances and seek ways to add value.
  4. Ensure all maintenance activities and materials are documented in Maximo.
  5. Maintain an accurate, prioritized log of maintenance activities.
  6. Take initiative for personal development and performance improvement.
  7. Coordinate with relevant teams to assemble work packages and assist in scheduling.
  8. Share knowledge, demonstrate understanding of different perspectives, and support team efforts.
  9. Monitor and track maintenance KPIs, collaborating with stakeholders to address issues.
  10. Focus on results, ownership, and continuous improvement of job plans.
  11. Build good relationships with contractors and service providers.
  12. Manage master data through applicable processes such as Management of Change (MOC).
  13. Execute scheduling duties for technicians and operations.
  14. Assist with emergency response procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Technical diploma or relevant trade certification (e.g., Certified Interprovincial Electrician, Industrial Mechanic, Instrumentation & Control Technician).
  2. 5+ years in a maintenance planner or coordination role.
  3. Willingness and experience with travel to Northern Alberta work sites.
  4. Experience with Prometheus Scheduling tool or willingness to learn.
  5. Shutdown/turnaround experience is a strong asset.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Goal-oriented, self-starter, with effective time management.
  8. Leadership ability to positively influence in a busy environment.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills.
  10. Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  11. Clear criminal background and satisfactory references.
  12. Compliance with drug and alcohol policies, including pre-employment testing.
