Job summary

THOAR Mining Management Ltd. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to support site-wide planning, maintenance, and operations.

The role focuses on resource allocation, work management, and coordination with supervisors, trades, operators, vendors, and contractors to maintain production continuity. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, with a 4-10 schedule and LOA/KM provisions for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson certification in Saskatchewan is required.
  • SAPS/4HANA experience needed.
  • Trade certification as Millwright or Electrician with mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • 5+ years in industrial/mining maintenance/production.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan maintenance activities with mine departments and contractors.
  • Prepare, facilitate, and track work packages for schedule-driven projects.
  • Ensure safety, environmental standards, and proper contract operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections.
  • Plan jobs, manage inventory, and source parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations to troubleshoot and improve maintenance planning.
  • Oversee asset and contractor management.

THOAR Mining provides a wide variety of services in the support and operation of mining, ranging from project management, supervision, underground construction, maintenance, and mining equipment operation.

Job Details:
  • This is a Full-time, permanentposition
  • Schedule: 4-10 schedule
  • LOAand KM for those who qualify

As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the site's continuous planning, maintenance, and operations to ensure resource allocation and effective work management.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and plan maintenance activities through effective communication and cohesive alignment with other departments in the mine, including supervisors, tradespersons, operators, vendors, and contractors;
  • Prepare, facilitate, and track specific work packages to execute schedule-driven projects;
  • Facilitate ongoing communication to ensure proper and efficient contract operation, allocation of resources, safety, and environmental standards;
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and general maintenance inspections;
  • Plan and coordinate jobs, manage inventory levels, communicate with suppliers, and source parts as necessary;
  • Work with operations to troubleshoot and address operational problems and participate effectively in preventative maintenance planning and execution striving for continuous improvement and cost control;
  • Oversee asset management programs and contractor management;
  • Coordinate, plan, and ensure work is executed in alignment with safe work practices.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification from the Saskatchewan
  • SAPS/4HANA experience a requirement
  • Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission as a JourneypersonMillwright or Electrician with Mechanical knowledge or Engineering Degree with specific site experience on a mine site surface or underground is preferred;
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance and production in the industrial/mining industry;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Knowledge of commonly used software packages including Microsoft Office,
  • Proactive and able to manage tight deadlines.

  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test will be required.
