General Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Planner to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and coordinating maintenance activities across our facilities. You will support reliability initiatives and data-driven maintenance planning. This position is primarily based in Palmerston and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
CMMS Administration
- Manage PMs, assets, work orders, and spare parts in systems like Oracle-JDE, EASE, Maintenance Connection / Maximo.
- Ensure database accuracy and data integrity.
- Assist supervisors and maintenance assistant managers with scheduling PMs and WOs in the CMMS.
- Link spare parts to open work orders and assets.
- Generate maintenance schedules in various formats as required by maintenance supervisors.
- Onboard PMs / inspections into CMMS with proper documentation.
- Collaborate with TGMO and TGNA to develop standards and best practices within CMMS.
- Support PM documentation and planning of manual PM programs based on OEM or internal recommendations.
Reliability & Data Analysis
- Track and report key reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, downtime trends, and failure rates.
- Support root-cause analysis and proactive maintenance initiatives.
- Develop weekly/monthly dashboards showing maintenance KPIs and asset performance.
Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Purchasing teams for parts scheduling.
- Facilitate shutdown planning, including task sequencing, labor allocation, and risk assessment.
- Serve as the central contact for maintenance planning processes.
- Monitor and track spare parts acquisition for open WOs and scheduled PMs.
- Work with purchasing to maintain adequate spare parts inventory.
- Analyze work orders and prepare critical/high-risk parts lists.
- Update WOs with ETA for ordered parts.
Reports
- Generate regular reports on PM compliance, backlog status, and technician performance.
- Document work orders, equipment manuals, repair histories, and SOPs.
- Maintain dashboards and share insights during team reliability reviews.
- Keep accurate backlog of work orders.
- Identify and correct errors in the CMMS created by Maintenance and Production personnel.
- Assist with shutdown labor planning and reporting.
- Provide a central source of information on maintenance work, equipment, and repairs.
Other
- Maintain strong relationships with Production and Maintenance personnel.
- Stay aware of equipment reliability status at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Education or Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or an associate diploma.
- At least five years of experience supporting CMMS in a production maintenance environment.
- Strong experience with database use and data entry.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office.
