Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, you will be responsible for maintenance and repairs to all hospital and patient related equipment. All duties will be carried out in accordance with all provincial, municipal codes and departments and hospital policies. The incumbent will join a growing team and be part of a rotating shift.

  • Responds to emergencies
  • Completes on demand work requests
  • Ensures the execution of all preventative and demand maintenance tasks as prescribed on all equipment and systems
  • Take daily/weekly/monthly required meter readings of all major equipment including but not limited to: air supply temperatures, water temperatures, pressure readings, water meter, gas meter and electrical meter. Document and report irregularities in readings.
  • Performs various troubleshooting efforts, at times with limited support.
  • Assists team members by providing support or coverage performing mechanical, landscaping, and other tasks as needed.
  • Familiarity with CMMS work request systems an asset.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Certificate in Technical, Building Environmental Systems or Industrial Maintenance is preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Engineering/Maintenance
  • Previous experience in a health care environment preferred
  • Ability to work all shifts
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent attendance
