Maintenance - Nursery / Garden Centre

West Coast Floral is a family-owned nursery and garden centre located in South Surrey. We are looking to fill a Maintenance Technician role. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in electrical, plumbing, metal fabrication, and general construction. West Coast Floral is known for its family values, innovative thinking, and exceptional industry standards. We grow our own plants in extensive greenhouses, with a nationwide wholesale and shipping division and a thriving retail garden centre. Situated on 24 acres with over 3 million plants grown inside 160,000 sq ft of climate-controlled greenhouses, every day offers a different experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for regular repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of facilities and greenhouse equipment.
• Perform general building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and irrigation system repairs.
• Adhere to all Joint Health and Safety regulations.
• Operate tractors and SDCB forklifts.
• Maintain water systems, tables, and shade curtains.
• Assist with small construction projects and the installation of new systems.
• Perform metal fabrication when needed in our greenhouse and construction projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop with adequate supplies.
• Work as part of a team and independently as required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in building and facilities maintenance.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong team player, able to work autonomously.
• Tractor and SDCB forklift experience is an asset.
