Role

Maintenance Millwright — Night shift

Night shift – 10:30pm – 7:30am, Monday to Friday; some weekend overtime required.

GRF operates in a cold, fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Applicants must be comfortable working with meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain all production-related equipment
  • Provide troubleshooting and support during downtime events
  • Comply with manufacturing practices, regulations and standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS)
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to improve asset health
  • Maintain detailed records of preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the CMMS
  • Collaborate with the maintenance planner to improve preventative maintenance activities
  • Identify and communicate continuous improvement ideas to management
  • Actively promote health and safety in the workplace
  • Complete maintenance reports and logs as required
  • Ensure production equipment is serviced as required
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to lower utility costs
  • Enforce safety, health, contamination and housekeeping policies and procedures to prevent injuries, downtime, damage, and product contamination
  • Keep work areas clean and hazard-free
  • Work safely and efficiently following legislated and company health and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Valid Millwright license with proof of apprenticeship
  • Able to perform routine machine shop practices (lathe & milling machine operations)
  • Experience welding stainless steel using TIG and ARC
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and controls
  • 2-5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry
  • Service, clean, and perform preventive maintenance and overhaul on all production equipment (spiral ovens, freezers, formers, cartoners, tray pack machines, bread and batter equipment)
  • Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
  • Problem-solving skills and good communication skills
  • Knowledge of health & safety and environmental regulations
  • Adherence to Food Safety Protocols
  • Ontario Millwright License
