Job Summary

Repair and maintain all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water equipment within the facility. Install new equipment and systems, operate lifting devices such as cranes and booms, and complete projects within designated timelines. Work within a team to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair injection molding equipment.

General Responsibilities
  • Perform all work safely and efficiently, complying with company policies, regulations, and collective agreements.
  • Contribute to team efforts and achieve related results as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to Environmental (ISO 14001) and Quality (TS 16949) policies, considering their impact on environment and quality.
  • Exhibit leadership through decision-making, motivation, fairness, and consistency to ensure employees understand their performance and importance.
  • Ensure personnel are competent through ongoing training, education, skills, and experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor to adapt to changing work scope.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and follow directives from maintenance and operation supervisors.
  • Maintain equipment safety and report unsafe practices.
  • Complete assigned tasks promptly.
  • Troubleshoot, assess, and repair breakdowns.
  • Show initiative in improving processes and safety measures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Record work details in maintenance logs and update production systems accordingly.
  • Possess hydraulic experience and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints related to equipment and building.
  • Report issues related to equipment, electrical, or mechanical systems.
Working Conditions & Qualifications

Education:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a 433A license in Ontario.
Experience & Training
  • Valid forklift with propane handling certification.
  • Completion of lock-out/tag-out and fall arrest training.
  • Aerial lift training completion.

Recommended training: WHMIS.

Skills & Competencies
  • Good communication skills (reading and understanding instructions).
  • Organizational and dexterity skills.
  • Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and architectural schematics.
  • Proficient mechanical background.
  • Knowledge of components and materials used in production.
