Position Title : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Location : Spruce Grove, Alberta

Job Type : Full-Time

Salary : $38.00–$46.25 per hour

Schedule : Monday to Thursday, 6 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join our team in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our preventative maintenance software to minimize equipment downtime
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, and generators.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship program or equivalent.
  • Valid Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Strong safety mindset with a demonstrated ability to follow lockout / tagout procedures, PPE protocols, and contribute to a culture of workplace safety
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal-driven with a strong sense of accountability to complete work efficiently and on time.
  • Clear and professional communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical thinker with sound judgment and confident decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Willing and eager to learn—open to hands-on training with equipment (e.g., winding machines) to gain a deeper understanding of our manufacturing process.
  • Physically capable, with the strength and stamina to safely handle and work with equipment and materials exceeding 20 kg.

Shift Schedule :

  • Standard schedule : Monday to Thursday, 6 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM
  • Flexibility is required — shift times may vary based on business needs
  • Overtime may be required, particularly on Fridays, to meet weekly production targets and customer demands
  • This role may include on-call responsibilities depending on operational requirements
