Main Accountabilities Include
  • Receiving work orders and obtaining necessary tools for repairs.
  • Transporting vehicles to be repaired by driving, towing, or pushing into the service bay.
  • Repairing vehicles such as tugs, forklifts, pay loaders, fuel trucks, and other airport vehicles.
  • Inspecting parts and vehicles to identify defects or broken components.
  • Repairing diesel engines, hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems.
  • Obtaining replacement parts and installing or repairing as needed.
  • Rebuilding assemblies or systems as required.
  • Consulting with supervisors for complex repairs requiring approval.
  • Completing work orders and updating status on open tasks.
  • Ensuring safe and secure operations following health, safety, security, and statutory standards.
  • Additional duties may include changing batteries, tires, oil, and minor repairs.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Qualified Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Mechanic or equivalent, with at least five (5) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty diesel/automotive equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Own tools and ability to operate various power and hand tools safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
  • Flexibility to work all hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., and comfortable with bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Clean driving record with certified copy of Driver’s Abstract.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and airport driving permits.
