Job description

Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

Custom Castings is actively seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who can work independently and in collaboration with others to keep our equipment running safely and efficiently

We're not just another foundry — we're a modern, integrated manufacturing facility specializing in high-quality aluminum and zinc castings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment, including:
    • CNC machines
    • Melting furnaces
    • Overhead cranes
    • Hydraulic systems and pneumatic tools
    • Casting machinery and auxiliary equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Fabricate parts using welding techniques (MIG, TIG); modify or create custom components as needed
  • Conduct routine inspections, adjust machinery and document maintenance activities
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently — day or night, weekday or weekend, when required. (Additional)
  • Assist in the design and execution of custom jigs, fixtures, safety guards, and machine upgrades

Qualifications & Requirements:

Will be an asset:

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate (or equivalent trade certification)
  • Proven experience in equipment maintenance and repair in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting pumps, valves, and cylinders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Must have:

  • Standard tool set available
  • Fabrication and welding skills
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment and work in tight or elevated spaces
