Job summary

LCBO is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to maintain and troubleshoot our plant equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal certification and 5 years of experience in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role involves working independently on complex maintenance problems and mentoring new employees. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including a pension plan and employee assistance.

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed Millwright (433A) with Red Seal.
  • 5 years industrial plant experience as a journeyman required.
  • Experience in Material Handling Equipment operation is a must.

Maintenance Mechanic 1 position

Are you looking for a role where you can work independently and solve problems Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment and machinery.

If you are a qualified Red Seal licensed Millwright (433A) and enjoy working in a fastpaced environment then this is the role for you!

About the Role

  • Ability to work with and interpret data and drawings.
  • Operate perform preventative maintenance troubleshoot repair and solve complex maintenance problems related to various pieces of equipment including mobile cranes palletizers pallet conveying system dock doors and levelers materialhandling equipment lubrication types and systems electrical hydraulic pneumatic systems
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and milling machines and fabrication tools such as welders breaks presses drill presses saws power threaders and punches.
  • Fabricating parts and installing machinery such as pumps compressors materialhandling systems electric motors gearboxes and racking system.
  • Perform working at heights and any other duties as required.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment such as forklifts reach trucks transporters boom and scissor lifts.
  • Working knowledge of electrical motor control and PLCs.
  • Building systems maintenance is part of this role.
  • Maintain the work area and physical environment in a neat clean and orderly condition (5S).
  • Mentoring new employees on machinery and equipment startup and best practices during the onboarding schedule.
  • Take a leadership role in maintaining and improving line productivity.
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the maintenance department to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures.

About You

  • Must be a licensed Millwright (433A) and hold a valid Red Seal Certificate.
  • Industrial Electrician Certificate is an asset.
  • Programable Logic Controller experience would be an asset.
  • Must have 5 years industrial plant experience as a journeyman including work with cranes rigging and hoisting materialhandling systems hydraulic and pneumatic operated systems welding fabrication and machine shop practices.
  • Must have previous experience of operating Material Handling Equipment such as forklifts reach trucks transporters boom and scissor lifts and / or can achieve a license in Material Handling Equipment with in the first 6 months of hire. (Training will be provided)
  • Must be able and capable of performing working at heights.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be motivated and a selfstarter.
  • Physically capable of carrying out all aspects of tasks involved.
  • Must be able to work all shifts (Midnight shift 12 : 00am to 08 : 00am Day shift 08 : 00am to 04 : 00pm and Afternoon shift 04 : 00pm to 12 : 00am).
  • Must be available to work overtime including weekend overtime.
  • Must be willing to do call in after regular shift.
  • Strong oral and written communication organization and interpersonal skills Ability to perform duties in a conscientious manner and ensure that safe working practices are followed in accordance with LCBO policies and procedures compliance with OHSA WSIB and WHMIS
