Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic II performs minor-skilled tasks such as repairs and adjustments necessary for proper operation of mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C., and plumbing systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Light bulb and fuse replacement
  2. Replacing ceiling tiles
  3. Repairing beds, desks, chairs, file cabinets, tables, and other furniture
  4. Assembling cabinets, chairs, shelving, tables, and other furniture
  5. Repairing doors
  6. Repairs to faucets and plumbing fixtures
  7. Clearing drains
  8. Repairs to Nurse Call Systems
  9. Cleaning and servicing fixed and portable fans and air conditioners
  10. Repairing kitchen equipment, dishwashing machines, etc.

Additionally, the technician should be knowledgeable in the operation of computerized systems such as pneumatic tube systems, fire alarms, and chlorine systems, capable of making necessary adjustments. Must respond immediately to alarms throughout the facility.

This is a full-time position on the 1st shift, with every other weekend and holiday required.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma, Technical School graduate, or equivalent. Completion of apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training. One to three years of experience in building maintenance with a background in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and H.V.A.C. equipment repair. Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
