Job Overview

Responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facilities, equipment, and company vehicles. Identify, monitor, and troubleshoot problems. Keep records of work performed and complete maintenance history logs. Control and account for equipment. Ensure the operation of safe and functionally sound equipment. Maintain grounds and clear parking lots. Maintain and order supplies and parts as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and repair facilities, including basic plumbing (bathroom repairs) and electrical systems.
  2. Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways; clear snow; re-key locks; repair dock doors/plates; maintain and repair epoxy floors and racking as needed.
  3. Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment, prioritizing repair schedules to ensure uninterrupted production.
  4. Conduct regular facilities inspections and assist in developing a preventive maintenance schedule to keep the work area clean, secure, and well-maintained.
  5. Ensure an adequate inventory of necessary spare parts and materials is maintained.
  6. Assist personnel as needed and communicate regularly to ensure repairs and maintenance needs are met and coordinated with production schedules.
  7. Keep management informed of activities and significant concerns or problems.
  8. Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures, as appropriate for the location.
Job Requirements
  1. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
  2. Knowledge of production functions, basic computer skills, and strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  3. Understanding of equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety guidelines.
  4. At least two years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment; machining and fabrication experience is a plus.
  5. Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to use various hand tools.
  6. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with others.
  7. Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available.
