Are you looking to be part of a growing pharmaceutical company? One of our largest clients is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join their New Brunswick, New Jersey team. Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company specializing in developing and manufacturing solid dosage products. Type: Direct Hire

Shift: 2nd shift - 3 pm - 11:30 pm
3rd shift - 11 pm - 7:30 am - Must have a valid NJ Boiler License

Job Summary

Support pharmaceutical manufacturing plant/equipment/utilities, maintaining compliance with all state and federal guidelines, with emphasis on current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) requirements.

Area of Responsibility

Under extensive supervision, perform mechanical maintenance:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance consistent with cGMP engineering maintenance requirements.
  • Perform non-routine tasks as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot issues and problems for optimal running efficiency by solving simple to complex problems related to equipment or process.
  • Maintain documents related to preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and usage logs.
  • Follow all company policies related to job safety and all regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform and assist in improvements/maintenance to all site operations.
Work Conditions

Environmental conditions related to manufacturing/production environments:

  • Noise, fumes, odors, gases, dust, hazards, etc., that pose risks to health and safety.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, visual acuity, operating equipment, and lifting up to 70 lbs.

Travel

Up to 5% travel required.

Education and Job Qualifications
  • High School/Trade School/Vocational School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to identify replacement parts, basic math and computer skills, operational understanding of manufacturing equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, basic understanding of cGMP and OSHA regulations.
  • English proficiency at Basic – A2 level.
Additional Skills and Certifications
  • Black Seal Boiler License & HVAC certification preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and control diagrams.
  • Knowledge of welding, plumbing, HVAC systems, compressed air/pneumatic systems, sheet metal fabrication, and electrical troubleshooting.
