Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant experience in aluminum cast house industry is an asset.
  • Strong literacy in blueprints and technical drawings is preferred.

  • Troubleshoot and repair cast house equipment to minimize downtime.

Starting Rate of pay:

$32.33 – $39.53/hour

(Rate will be $1 less during probationary period – 850 hours worked)

Shifts Available and Hours:

Biweekly rotating shifts with alternating schedules:

  • Week 1: 4 days (48 hours), 12 AM – 12 PM
  • Week 2: 3 days (36 hours), 12 AM – 12 PM
  • Week 3: 4 days (48 hours), 12 PM – 12 AM
  • Week 4: 3 days (36 hours), 12 PM – 12 AM
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment in similar functions.
  • Valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as a Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright (433A).
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in the aluminum cast house industry is an asset.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings (hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and welding).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with extrusion equipment is a strong asset.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Solid basic math skills.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair cast house equipment effectively to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all production and facility systems.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and complete work orders accurately and on time.
  • Diagnose root causes of hydraulic and pneumatic issues; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by strictly following company Health & Safety protocol.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
