Maintenance Manager - Rogers Foods Ltd. Chilliwack Division
Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for equipment reliability and asset management of the site. This position oversees the identification and execution of site-level projects, leads the optimization of maintenance operations, and provides oversight and guidance to the maintenance team. The role involves implementing preventative maintenance programs and leveraging the ERP system to optimize maintenance planning and data analysis.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Certifications in Maintenance Management – Certified Maintenance Management Professional (MMP).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Required:
- 10+ years of professional experience in a maintenance leadership role within an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent.
- Proven track record of improving maintenance efficiency and reducing costs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial equipment, automation, and maintenance best practices.
- Proficiency in data analytics for predicting equipment failures and optimizing maintenance schedules.
- Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean and 5S is an asset.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Management
- Oversee departmental performance, establish performance metrics, KPIs, and report to senior management.
- Establish maintenance programs, schedules, protocols, and procedures to optimize asset performance and ensure regulatory compliance (GMP, Safety).
- Coordinate with production teams to prioritize maintenance activities, minimizing operational disruptions.
- Oversee and optimize parts inventory management to control costs and ensure business continuity.
- Lead site-level change management for new infrastructure and assets, ensuring effective planning and implementation.
Asset Management and Lifecycle Planning
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize asset lifecycle.
- Conduct regular assessments of asset condition, performance, and depreciation to inform maintenance and replacement decisions.
- Manage and optimize the CMMS for timely work order completion and accurate inventory management.
- Develop long-term asset replacement plans and budget forecasts.
Leadership and Team Development
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the maintenance team, fostering collaboration.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching.
- Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.
- Promote safety and efficiency within the team.
Capital Investment Planning
- Develop and maintain a strategic capital investment plan.
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and make recommendations.
- Collaborate with various departments to secure funding, procure equipment, and manage vendor relationships.
Project Management
- Manage all aspects of maintenance capital projects, ensuring alignment with divisional strategies and objectives.
- Monitor projects throughout implementation, manage changes, and report progress and risks to leadership.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes.
- Maintain awareness of critical control points related to product liability.
- Ensure compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Follow GMPs during job duties and tasks.
