We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team, ensuring seamless operation of machinery and equipment in our state-of-the-art facility. This role offers an opportunity to shape and maintain operational excellence in a cutting-edge environment.

The Opportunity
  • Develop and implement an annual strategic maintenance plan, including Total Productive Maintenance (LEAN) initiatives, and monitor Key Productivity Indicators.
  • Manage daily maintenance operations, oversee project execution, and report to management.
  • Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance module (training provided).
  • Manage maintenance budget and cost centers (training provided).
  • Create accurate work instructions for maintenance tasks.
  • Supervise and mentor Technical Service staff, facilitate interviews, and promote team motivation and flexibility.
  • Oversee all activities within the Technical Service department related to assets at Andritz Feed & Biofuel Inc.
  • Promote ANDRITZ as an employer of choice.
  • Propose process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with CAPEX team on project planning and implementation.
  • Support technical inquiries, projects, and capital investments.
  • Analyze PLC programs and coordinate with OEMs for maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment.
  • Manage procurement of tools, equipment, and technical staff hiring.
  • Assess annual outsourced maintenance costs with the Production Manager.
  • Uphold personnel policies and communicate company objectives.
  • Implement methodologies like 5S and Continuous Improvement (Andritz Production System).
  • Prioritize safety and lead emergency response efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario safety regulations.
  • Follow directives from the General Manager and adhere to principles of APS and Lean Manufacturing.

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills and technical proficiency.
  • Ability to work with outside contractors and assist physically in setup.
  • Proficiency in welding, shop tools, and machinery setup.
  • Strong organizational skills for space and process optimization.
  • Experience in coordinating machine repairs and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in shop floor and office environments.
  • Effective presentation skills for small groups.
  • Authorized to work in Canada, with a valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
