Position: Maintenance Manager

The Port Alberni facility is seeking a talented individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of Maintenance Manager. This role oversees the maintenance functions of the mill, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation, with a primary goal of maintaining equipment reliability to meet production targets while managing costs effectively.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and oversee maintenance activities at the mill.
  2. Participate in recruiting trades personnel, assess job performance, and support training and development.
  3. Manage departmental budgets, prioritize expenditures, and advise senior management on financial matters.
  4. Ensure compliance with labor contracts and company policies.
  5. Lead safety programs and environmental policies in collaboration with Maintenance Supervisors and tradesmen.
  6. Engage with union representatives to resolve grievances and manage contracting issues, participating in relevant committees.
  7. Collaborate with peers in other mills to develop knowledge sharing networks.

Salary range: $150,000 - $170,000 per annum (actual salary will depend on education, experience, and internal parity).
